The Fifth Recipient of the TSJ Future Writer Award, 2021/2022
Each year I sponsor a creative writing award in the Thames Valley District School Board in London, Ontario. Find more information about the award here. It recognizes special achievement and skill in the following genres: Thriller, Suspense, Mystery, Science Fiction, and Horror.
I’m proud to announce that the recipient this year is Erika Parker. Selected by her EWC 4U1 creative writing teacher, Erika showed strength and skill in genre writing, particularly in her ability to use dialogue to drive the narrative. This is something I appreciate in good books. Her story, Bound by Strings, is a strong reflection of her abilities and she deserved the award this year. In September, Erika is moving into a university science program and hopes for an eventual career in forensic pathology. I hope she continues writing creatively! The pathology field is definitely a source for possible inspiration and a foundation for incredible stories.
