Soon, in London, Ontario, Canada, and located in the heart of Springbank Park in the South West neighbourhood of Byron, there will be a monument dedicated to the Canadian military, both past and present. The purpose is to “Remember, Reflect, Preserve,” and I am assisting the committee with increasing awareness and asking our community in Byron and London — and all Canadians — to help raise funds.Â

It’s quite an incredible memorial and I recommend everyone in the area to visit the Forks of the Thames to experience this.

During the past year, I have been working with a committee in London, Ontario, Canada to enhance/build a memorial for those Canadians who gave their lives during the Battle of the Atlantic, from 1939-1945. The memorial is now finished and was unveiled to the public at the 80th anniversary of the battle’s end (see the news footage of the event further down). I had the distinct honour of writing the text for one of the panels. I thought I’d share it with you today.
