Just read that title again. JCVD is set to command a USN submarine following the 7 December 1941 Pearl Harbor attack, on a vital mission to destroy a Japanese outpost in the Pacific.

I previously reviewed the fourth installment here. Spoiler: I loved it and assigned it a rating of 9.5/10. It was highly entertaining and escapist fun, which, as I wrote in 2022, is needed “now more than ever before.” Four years after the fact, that statement is also more true than ever before.

And if you don’t mind me saying, it is much better than the first one.
