Help the Palace Theatre in London, Ontario
Support the arts and help The Palace Theatre in London, Ontario.
Here are six reels I filmed at The Palace showcasing this amazing facility. It is nearly 100 years old and is in need of constant upkeep. I am asking for assistance to “keep the lights twinkling.”
Each reel is only 90 seconds long.
This is a six-part series; all six reels are embedded here from my YouTube channel. (I removed the music for copyright reasons.) Enjoy the six reels and then please consider:
- Donating to the Palace Theatre.
- Buying tickets to a show this season, and the next, and the next … etc.
- Consider setting up a monthly donation to the Palace Theatre.
- If you are a business owner, consider sponsoring an entire show!
- Become a member.
- Buy a gift certificate and give the gift of entertainment to a loved one.
In the reels, I express how important the theatre is to me because of the classic movies I saw there. They are an important part of my creative journey, which I write about frequently here at Life After Gateway. I was born and raised in London, and my friends and I were always downtown in the 1970s and 80s watching movies, playing in the videogame arcades, shopping at Novack’s, and roaming the malls. So many people have approached me to say they saw Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark at the Palace (Park) Theatre. The movies are countless and epic. The facility was famous because of its curved screen, the only one in London. Here is a picture from the Facebook group, Vintage London, Ontario. Imagine being in that front row while watching the Luke/Darth lightsaber dual from Return of the Jedi, or the Reliant vs. Enterprise battle in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. I talk about both films in my six-part series:
The building is nearly 100 years old and is need of frequent upkeep and maintenance. Please consider helping. For those who are new to London, this theatre is an important part of our history. It was designated by the City of London as an historic site under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1991. I am asking for all Londoners to help “keep the lights twinkling.”

Thank You
I want to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Palace Theatre for welcoming me to the facility to film and begin this campaign. They are wonderful people and are all dedicated to the Palace. Together, as a community, we can help them.

Help the Palace Theatre Arts Commons in London, Ontario. Their founding group, the London Community Players (LCP), have been putting on live theatre for over fifty years. Before buying the Palace in 1991, the facility was the “Park Theatre,” showing some of the most epic movies in history. I have a strong emotional connection to this theatre, and I am asking Londoners to help support the Palace Theatre Arts Commons. The building is nearly 100 years old and constant maintenance and upkeep are necessary.
This is a Registered Charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency: #119023653RR0001. You will get a tax receipt with a donation.
The London Community Players’ 2025/2026 season includes THE FRONT PAGE: SCOOPED, DEATHTRAP, MAMA MIA!, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, and more.
