Scale Model AMT 1405M USS Enterprise-E Has Arrived

Sunward Hobbies in Mississauga, Ontario has shipped the model kit I purchased back in November 2025.

I previously posted about this purchase HERE. AMT originally released the model in 1997, concurrently with Star Trek: First Contact, and there have been five additional releases since, some with new box artwork, and some with new pieces. You can see the whole evolution of this kit at scalemates. The last release was back in 2013 and has been out of stock at stores for many years, so this AMT/Round 2 release is welcomed by many.

Here’s the box on my work bench, and below, a closer look at the artwork:

Earlier, when I wrote about this kit being available for pre-order from AMT/Round 2 (and Sunward Hobbies in Ontario), I wrote this:

You may recall that NCC 1701-D met its demise in Star Trek: Generations. The ship was redesigned for First Contact, and it is simply beautiful. It’s sleek, powerful, and more warlike than the television version. First Contact really highlighted the ship, especially that deflector dish and the engineering/warp core area. There were so many conflicts with the Borg in so many areas of the ship, in fact, that Enterprise itself became a character in the movie.

In my previous post, I embedded the video of Enterprise-E versus the Borg cube. Today, let’s watch the NCC 1701-E take on the Son’a from Star Trek: Insurrection (credit to YouTube channel Guardian Images):
