Greetings! This week, one of the great events of this author’s career occurred. It doesn’t happen often for most novelists. All the months and years …
… of hard work and dedication that go into a novel — including, but not limited to, long periods of research, reading, studying, planning, plotting, designing graphics, and writing, then editing, and editing, and editing, and more editing — finally comes to fruition. Along with all the work also comes a severe lack of sleep, great anxiety, tension, fear, worry, (migraines) and enormous mounds of self-doubt. But eventually, a package arrives at the door and an instant later there’s a tangible copy of said work in one’s hands.
It’s an unimaginable feeling.
It’s glorious.
Uplifting.
The realization of all the agony and long nights/days/months/years, finally in a hardcopy that I can hold in my hands and see on a bookshelf.
It’s remarkable.
But it’s also a sign that this particular book’s journey has only just begun. Now the promotion really ramps up. I hope you’ve noticed! It’s the people who support me, buy the books, read the books, and review the books, that allows me to keep writing. I never take that for granted, and there is so much more to come. Thank you for being on the journey with me. THANK YOU for reading my books. Thank you for investing hours of your time diving into what are really escapist adventures meant to take readers to another time and place, where maybe they can forget about their current troubles and just enjoy an adventure with twists and turns and a powerful emotional journey. Yes, my books all say something. There’s a point to them, a message I am sending, with strong themes and my thoughts and opinions on certain topics, and maybe a prediction of things to come.
But really, they’re thrillers designed to thrill, plain and simple.
