We Have a Full Trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero!

After July’s very short teaser, we now have a full trailer, featured here today at Life After Gateway.
A Short Recap
I have posted about this project before, where I wrote this about the Godzilla phenomenon:
Set just after World War II, it was a commentary on conditions in Japan after the war. And, as with many Science Fiction movies of the Cold War era (i.e. the original Godzilla films), it was also a statement on the dangerous effects of radiation from ongoing nuclear testing.
The Godzilla movies were always entertaining. People were inevitably trying to survive an encounter with some kind of giant monster, forged from radiation exposure, and Godzilla would arrive on the scene and end up helping the humans. There were a variety of other mutated creatures, some of whom were Godzilla’s allies, and some evil, hellbent on destroying cities and causing mayhem. I remember Mothra being a friend, and I also have a memory of Godzilla having a child in some of the movies, but I’m not entirely sure of the details. The enemies usually involved King Ghidorah (a three-headed dragon), Mechagodzilla (a mechanical beast), and Rodan.
Godzilla Minus One was a wonderful film with a great story and OSCAR-winning effects. It was emotional, thrilling, and original. I was happy to hear, back in November 2025, that we are getting a direct sequel. Here’s the story, according to IMDB and the official YouTube channel:
The Godzilla Minus Zero Story
From IMDB:
Set in 1949, the Shikishima family confronts a fresh catastrophe two years after surviving their previous ordeal with the legendary monster.
And from the Godzilla Toho official YouTube channel:
War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life. Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant. There is no third time. Everything ends here.
The Trailer
As we saw in the previous teaser, there was a strong debate about the use of a nuclear weapon to kill … Godzilla? Take a look at this new trailer, just below. It seems that there is another kaiju, if I trust my ears and eyes in the last few frames. What do you think?
The film is once again directed and written by Takashi Tamazaki, who also does the special effects. This is advertised as the first Japanese movie filmed in IMAX format.
Here’s the brand new trailer; the film releases on 6 November 2026. Are you planning to see it in theatres? Tell me in the comments below.
