The Furnace, The Freezer, The Void by TSJ
I wanted to showcase this incredible concept artwork by Nelson Housden for each book in The Tanner Sequence. Agatha Christie and Isaac Asimov inspired me to write these futuristic murder mysteries, published by Carina Press back in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The Furnace was the first book I sold, back in 2012.
The series won the CLUE Award in the Blended Genre Category. The Furnace won the CYGNUS Award in the Science Fiction Thriller Category, and The Freezer won the EPIC Award in the Science Fiction Category. Publisher’s Weekly gave me a starred review for The Void. I love these books. Each is a claustrophobic murder mystery in a hostile setting and the murders involve science as a means of death. The investigator, Lt. Kyle Tanner, and his companion Shaheen Ramachandra, are favorites of mine. They serve the military in a regime they despise; as a result, they are conflicted and desperate to escape their situations. At the same time, Tanner believes in justice and wants to give closure to victims’ families. I love Tanner and Shaheen and hope to one day write more installments in this series.
