Alien: Isolation 2 Update

I noticed this on Creative Assembly’s Instagram account, and wanted to share it with you today. Find the full logo further down:
News about the sequel has recently emerged from the Gamescon event that took place in Cologne, Germany at the end of August. Creative Assembly, the developer behind Alien: Isolation 2, unveiled the first thirty minutes of the game for attendees to experience. The reports coming out from there are universally positive, praising the paranoia, fear, claustrophobia, horror, design, and the “bridge” between the first and second games.
But first …
First, A Quick Recap
I played the first game years ago. I feel — and still do, to this day — that it’s one of the best and most immersive games I’ve ever played. It’s up there with Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us 1 & 2, and Prey in terms of cinematic storytelling. It’s also the scariest game I’ve ever played. Here’s my review from nearly ten years ago. I wrote this:
It captures the mood and horror of Scott’s original film perfectly. It holds some genuinely terrifying moments as well as amazing production and sound design. (Use a headset for this game — it’s a must.) The game fits seamlessly into Alien continuity. The story is emotional and film-worthy. In fact, it’s more “Alien” than the recent films have been. I HIGHLY recommended this game and hope there are sequels coming. I can’t think of any way to improve upon this title … To the entire production team at Creative Assembly — you created a perfect Science Fiction / Horror video game. You have my eternal gratitude. Please please please … give me more Alien!
Years passed. Online, many people opined about wanting a sequel, but openly admitted that it likely wouldn’t happen because the original team of developers were no longer together, etc. etc. etc. Eventually, I played the game again, running it through a second time.

It was just as thrilling as I’d remembered.
And then, abruptly, on 8 October 2024, Creative Assembly announced that a sequel was indeed on the way, and that:
“… members from the original ALIEN: ISOLATION development team (are) at the helm.”
Then, eighteen months later, we saw the first very short teaser for the sequel. Then, a full trailer, which you can see below. Game developers also gave us this description, on the Sega website:
On a remote, storm-ravaged colony-world, players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface, and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station. It’s a new hunting-ground for the Alien, forcing players to improvise and develop new tools, techniques and tactics to survive the deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
I’m not familiar with Kurosaki Station; it was created for this game. There are a few more details below:
Kurosaki Station Logo
Today at Life After Gateway, I bring to you the Kurosaki Station logo. I’m sure we’ll be seeing it all over the station’s bulkheads in the new game:

But Wait — There’s More!
Since I wrote this article, Creative Assembly posted a new story on their Instagram account which featured even more Kurosaki Station logos:

Early Word on Gameplay
According to people who have played the opening sequence at Gamescon 2026, the focus is still on stealth and evasion and the main character — Blake — is a part of the survey team investigating a crashed lab from Sevastopol Station from the first game. The opening sequence took place in the crashed ship and involved restoring power when the xenomorph appeared. Reports are universally positive. The aesthetic, the horror, the stealth, and the xenomorph design are all top tier. Events involved a trek through the submerged forest featured in the trailer (seen below) and then into the crashed lab, where the player had to work to restore power while being hunted by the xenomorph.
Future events are unknown at this time, though it will likely involve that forest as well as Kurosaki station, which to the best of my knowledge, we have not yet seen.
We still don’t have a release date, though 2028 seems likely.
The sequel will be available on X-Box Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Here is the trailer; are you excited to play this game? Let me know in the comments. As more news arrives about this project, I’ll post it here at Life After Gateway. Watch this space.
