FiftyAs I write this, I can’t quite believe it. I’ve made an annual tradition of publishing a blog post each birthday. They might be thoughts on this past year, on my life, my experiences, or on random bits and pieces from the last decades of my life.
I’ve been quarantining with my family since March 13. I’ve barely gone out as we all wait for The Pause to end. I’ve been focusing on writing another book in The Rise of Oceania, along with watching a hell of a lot of news. I have a lot to say about what we’re living through, but will put my thoughts in a future article. ***

This arrived in my inbox the other day, and it absolutely blew me away. A Grade 9 student used my book, The War Beneath, as the basis for her English project in school. She created a diorama of Trieste City. Here’s a schematic of the underwater city as it appears in the book:
